Here are some responses to our most frequently asked questions – please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any more.

What type of CVs do you write?

We write employer-led CVs that focus on what you are offering the employer. Our influence comes from our experience and feedback from employers and customers alike. This is why your CV will not read as though you have copied it from a text book. Through our experience, we know your CV will be effective if it is individual, honest and positive with your capabilities, talents and achievements clearly evident. On this basis, try to have an open mind about your new CV – there are no rules with CVs (despite what other people may tell you!). Our aim is to write a CV that will work to generate interviews for you.

How many CVs do you write?

We write up to 600 CVs per month.

Do you specialise in anything?

Yes. We specialise in writing CVs for people with more complicated backgrounds. This can include people with complete career changes, gaps in employment, redundancy, illness, parent returners and many others. Since 2000, we have been recognised as experts in CV writing by government-funded organisations and have provided training and consultancy nationally to organisations who support people back into work.

Will I have a say in how my CV is produced?

Yes. When we have written your CV you will receive a paper or e-mailed copy for you to read and check through.

Which format will you use to save my CV?

We will save your new CV in MS Word and PDF. We recommend you use the PDF one for emailing your new CV to employers. We like you to have a copy of your CV in Word, so you can easily make any minor changes if needed. That being said, we always keep a copy of your CV (with your permission) and you can always contact us to update it for you.

What happens if I don’t like my new CV?

Because we work closely with you, this is unlikely to happen. From our experience, it is more likely to occur if you have very strong opinions on how your CV should look, so we urge you to have an open mind and trust us. If there are some things you want to add or change then we work with you for as long as it takes. There are no limits to the number of drafts you can have before printing. If you are still not happy, we will give you a full refund.

How long will it take for you to write my CV?

It depends entirely on how much experience you have and how much information you provide us with. We can usually prepare your CV within 5 working days but please indicate if you need it sooner.

Who will read my CV before I send it to employers?

The person who is writing your CV and our proof reader.

Who will write my CV - are they qualified?

We have a team of over 20 writers who are all educated to degree level and are specialists within their field as well as 2 qualified proof readers. On our team, we have experienced Managers, Academics, Business Consultants, HR Professionals and Copy Writers. We hold The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification, Masters in Business Administration and Diploma in Psychotherapy. Between the team we are fluent in English, French, German and Italian.

When I have a job and want to update my CV, can I contact you again?

Yes, please do!

Do you keep a copy of my CV on file?

Yes. We keep electronic copies of your CV in case you need additional copies or amendments in the future. If you don’t want us to do this, please indicate on your form.
